Everyone who yearns to fly knows the starting words to High Flight, the famous poem by Pilot Officer Magee:

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

There are a few times in the past that I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, 41 hours to be exact. I hope this blog will come to document my further experiences getting my certificate (not license!) and of course any adventures—most assuredly not misadventures, heavens no—in flying.

As I hope to one day write a book on everything I’ve learned about aviation, I hope this blog will have the source material I can use. For those of you who know me personally (hence, my laziness), please don’t laugh. Too loudly anyway. And certainly not in my presence at least!
